A website is so much more than great design and stunning imagery. At it's heart is the content that users set out to retrieve. Without structure, that is both intuitive and helpful, the user may struggle to fulfil the requirements that brought them to the site. Our initial process focus is to ensure a solid base is built for the website so that users can easily find the content they are looking for.
We don’t have all of the answers to begin with but we know how to find them. Our consultants use a range of techniques to elicit requirements and desires from clients and users. We like to start the process by visiting your place of work and getting a feel for who you are and what you do, before speaking to individuals to find out their personal expectations.
Our design processes centre around the user and ensuring that they can find what they are looking for quickly and easily. While your website might be overflowing with unique and engrossing content, if it is poorly written and hard to find, it may not receive the audience it deserves. With this in mind, we scrutinise the relevancy and copywriting to help shape your content into a form that is easy for users to find, understand and enjoy.
Once we understand the information architecture of your website, we start prototyping interfaces with wire-frames that encompass all relevant platforms, from mobile to desktop. These wire-frames can then be expanded into interactive prototypes to help better understand any complex functionality.
We utilise a number of different tools and methods, such as mouse/click analysis, user interviews, focus groups and A/B testing, to ensure the best user experience for your target audience. Each part of the tests are designed to highlight key usability issues, from content through to navigational devices.
